So my daughter just turned 16. She got a job at TJ Maxx. She went to work on Thursday. They told her she gets a 10% discount, but that this past weekend she would get a 20% discount.
So the next thing out of her mouth "Mom, if you take me to TJ Maxx this weekend, I'll pay you back". So anyway, she shopped. I met her manager and some of her coworkers. They were all super nice and upbeat....surprising since it was late in the day and that store was PACKED. Troubling economy? Where? Not in Frisco.
So tonight is her first real day on the job...where she'll really 'work' and not watch movies about theft, and how to earn $350 by ratting out her coworkers.
Tomorrow I'm taking off so I can take my daughter to attempt her driving test again. The parallel parking thing didn't work out last time, which we all now how important that is...NOT.
Unfortunately in Texas, this is an all day process. You show up at DMV BEFORE they open. No kidding. Someone walks outside and gives you an appt slip and you have to come back later for your test. Last week, I was there at 7:15am and there were 50 people in line...fortunately they didn't all need drivers' tests, so we were able to get a 3pm appt. Her driving test lasted all of 1.5 minutes. She backed in to a pole and that was it.
After all of that tomorrow, we will drive another 30 miles away to take my son out for this birthday.
Oh and then next week...drumroll... please. Let's see if all this really happens. Technically I could be divorced on Monday (but I still haven't seen the final decree) and then I could close on the sale of my house on Wednesday.
Some days I envy the people who have really boring lives. However, I'm having a great day and feeling upbeat.
NFLX is up $7 today...which is good because I bought some more last week when the price dropped. I also had bought PAY and DECK recently which are doing well. My current dud is RVBD. I will give RVBD a few days to turn around or they are fired.
